The GBA’s Distinctive Catering & Events Department
Dr. George Snelling managed his own dental practice in Augusta, Georgia, for 23 years. Active in his community, Dr. George Snelling is one of only three citizen members of the Georgia Building Authority (GBA).
The GBA manages the services required for the 36 buildings and various facilities belonging to the Atlanta Capitol Hill Complex. Such services include housekeeping, landscaping, recycling, facility rental, and event catering.
For those interested in hosting an event at one of the GBA’s world-class facilities, Distinctive Catering & Events is the department to contact. It has five diverse venues to choose from, including a restored railroad freight depot dating back to the 1870s known as the Freight Room.
Both the Empire Room and the Floyd Room are located on the 20th floor of the West Tower in the Sloppy Floyd building. Each offers a breathtaking view of Underground Atlanta, while Empire sports a vista of Turner Field baseball stadium and the State Capitol. Visitors to Floyd are privileged to see more of the downtown area, and on a sunny day they can see as far as Georgia’s Stone Mountain.
The Blue Room and the Georgia Room are also available for meetings, seminars, and receptions.
